Endonasal Surgery of the Lacrimal Sac and Duct*

The course for those who take interest in endonasal surgery and lacrimal surgery (with or without their practical experience). Authors present their experience with more than 1700 lacrimal pathways procedures (600 dacryocystorhinostomie /DCR/, 130 CDCRs etc.). The basic diagnostic tests and an algoritmus necessary before endonasal operations are introduced, indications criterias for DCRs and canalicular surgery are discussed. Principle of endonasal DCRs and important recommendations for bettering DCRs results are presented (intubation, middle concha resection, mitomycin etc). The new technique of the lacrimal sac location with the help of the bayonet forceps in DCRs and conjunctivocystorhinostomies with the insertion of a Jones glass bypass tube /CDCRs/ is presented and showed on video presentation. The external and endonasal approaches are compared.
